Judging @ International Design Challenge

I was invited as a judge in the International Design Challenge 2020. The competition was conducted by the School of Information System, Binus University in collaboration with Indonesia ACM SIGCHI Chapter. In the process, the judges from Indonesia, Malaysia, and India select the best three of more than 50 submissions for students in various countries. The best five are invited to present their works virtually on 30 April 2020.

International Design Challenge 2020 facilitates students (undergraduate program) from various design and technology backgrounds (e.g. HCI, UX, ICT, industrial design, product design, visual design, interaction design) to demonstrate their problem solving and design ability to propose solutions for digital-technology issues. This year’s competition theme is “Promote Your Culture with Technology”.

ACM SIGCHI SEA Summer School 2019

On 25-27 November 2019, I attend the ACM SIGCHI Southeast Asia Summer School 2019, in Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). The event was organised by ACM SIGCHI and hosted by SUTD. The aim of the conference is to train the trainers in scientific writing, especially for CHI Conferences. The summers school was attended by around 20 HCI researcher from various countries in the South-East Asia Region.

After the event, I also disseminate the knowledge through several talks: Write4CHI: A Keypoint from ACM SIGCHI SEA Summer School, hosted by Binus University, Indonesia, April 30 and May 20, 2020 [Slide] [Podcast].

Paper and Poster Presentation @R10HTC2019

The IEEE R10 Humanitarian Technology Conference 2019 (R10 HTC 2019) is the premier conference on humanitarian technology held annually by IEEE Region 10. It is my privilege to present one paper, one poster, and also participate as a finalist in the project competition. Our paper was titled Analysis and Design of Patriot Pangan: Towards Electronic Participation and Initiative Platform to Help Reduce Food Insecurity in Indonesia. The paper is already indexed in IEEE Xplore and Scopus. My students and other students from IPB University also present their poster in the conferences.

We also invited as a finalist at Engineering Festival for Humanity: Networking, Sharing and Inspiring in Conjunction with R10 Humanitarian Technology Conference 2019. However, but haven’t got any champion. Instead, my peers, Dr Karlisa, got second place in the Women in Engineering video.

I also have the privilege of eating my dinner at Sushi Tei Margo City. Still as good as I remember.
